Improper selection can lead to low pump efficiency, shortened lifespan, and even safety accidents. The following factors need to be considered:
1. Characteristics of the medium
Corrosivity: Choose corrosion-resistant materials (such as stainless steel 316L, fluoroplastic lining, Hastelloy).
Viscosity: For high viscosity media, screw pumps or gear pumps should be used.
Solid content: For media containing particles, wear-resistant materials or mortar pumps should be selected.
2. Flow rate and head
Flow rate (Q): The volume of liquid transported per unit time (m ³/h).
Head (H): The pump can lift the height of the liquid (m), taking into account pipeline resistance.
3.Temperature and pressure
High temperature media should use high-temperature resistant seals (such as graphite or metal bellows seals).
Multi stage centrifugal pumps or plunger pumps are selected for high-pressure conditions.
4.Sealing method
Mechanical seal: Suitable for most chemical media, the sealing material needs to be selected according to the medium.
Magnetic seal: No leakage, suitable for high-risk media.
Packing seal: Low cost, but prone to leakage, gradually phased out.
4.material selection
Stainless steel 304/316: resistant to general corrosion.
Fluorine lined plastic (PTFE): resistant to strong acids and alkalis.
Ceramic/Silicon Carbide: Wear resistant and corrosion-resistant.
